Grillin’ for Food Gatherers
Grillin’ 2021 Update
For the second year in a row, Food Gatherers has canceled
“Grillin’ for Food Gatherers” over COVID-19 safety concerns. We really hoped this spring would be different from last year but because the public health risk remains high for in-person events, we are choosing to cancel our annual community “picnic with a purpose”.
We are proud that many of our community sponsors have committed to support Food Gatherers in lieu of a Grillin’ sponsorship this year! We are grateful for their support along with the support of the food business community that has made our work possible since our founding and especially in the last year. We hope you will read through the lists below and support these local businesses generously!

What is Grillin’?
Second Sunday in June.
Grillin’ is Food Gatherers’ annual picnic with a purpose. Each year, we host more than 1,400 guests at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds for the best party of the year.
One in seven people in Washtenaw County struggles with hunger. Proceeds from Grillin’ enable Food Gatherers to distribute more than 18,000 meals a day to adults, seniors, and children in need of food. Grillin’ 2019 raised nearly 700,000 meals for hungry people in our community.
Grilled gourmet sausages, paella, vegetarian fare, and corn; side dishes and desserts from our area’s best restaurants and food retailers.
Live music by local artists; cash bar featuring Michigan microbrews and wines; silent auction and raffle; kids’ activities hosted by the Hands-On Museum; complimentary massages provided by Body Wisdom Massage; and a photo booth!
