Grillin’ for Food Gatherers
Grillin’ 2022 is canceled
We’ve been looking forward to our annual fundraiser which brings together more than 1,000 people to enjoy music, games, and delicious food from dozens of local businesses. After careful consideration, we are sad to share that we will not be hosting Grillin’ 2022. With ongoing supply chain issues and rising inflation and continued public health uncertainty, we are not confident we can pull off a successful event. Everyone in the food industry is exhausted and focused on maintaining their daily operations and the same is true for Food Gatherers.
Thanks to our amazing staff, volunteers, and partners we will continue to persevere through this pandemic and deliver food to our neighbors facing food insecurity. We ask for your continued support of Food Gatherers and all the local businesses who support the community in so many ways.
Instead of buying a ticket to Grillin’, we hope that you will consider a gift to Food Gatherers! Right now, your donation will be matched 1:1, up to $40,000, through the generosity of the Harold and Kay Peplau Family Fund. Click here to donate!
Lastly, please mark your calendar for next year’s event on June 11, 2023!

What is Grillin’?
Second Sunday in June.
Grillin’ is Food Gatherers’ annual picnic with a purpose. Each year, we host more than 1,400 guests at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds for the best party of the year.
One in seven people in Washtenaw County struggles with hunger. Proceeds from Grillin’ enable Food Gatherers to distribute more than 18,000 meals a day to adults, seniors, and children in need of food. Grillin’ 2019 raised nearly 700,000 meals for hungry people in our community.
Grilled gourmet sausages, paella, vegetarian fare, and corn; side dishes and desserts from our area’s best restaurants and food retailers.
Live music by local artists; cash bar featuring Michigan microbrews and wines; silent auction and raffle; kids’ activities hosted by the Hands-On Museum; complimentary massages provided by Body Wisdom Massage; and a photo booth!
