Food Gatherers, the food bank and food rescue program serving Washtenaw County, is seeking a Community Kitchen Coordinator to work alongside our Community Kitchen team at the Delonis Center in downtown Ann Arbor.

About the role: The Community Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for the planning, preparation, and serving of nutritious meals to meal guests at the Food Gatherers Community Kitchen. The Community Kitchen Coordinator will supervise and direct volunteers who help with the preparation and serving of meals.

We are seeking an individual with a passion for food and all things culinary! The ideal applicant will be passionate about our mission to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community. Top applicants will have prior experience working in a commercial kitchen and a strong track record regarding food safety and personal safety. Applicants will work on-site at the Delonis Center. The typical schedule will be Monday-Friday, but there will be occasional weekends, evenings, and special events required. Food Gatherers carefully follows all public health guidelines related to COVID-19.

Compensation and benefits: This position is full time (40 hours/week) and the wage range starts at $20.00/hour; experience will be taken into consideration when determining final pay. About the Food Gatherers Community Kitchen: The Community Kitchen is a program of Food Gatherers, located at the Robert J Delonis Center. Also located at the Delonis Center is the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County. The Community Kitchen (CK) serves free meals, prepared daily, to guests from the community including shelter residents, neighbors experiencing homelessness, and anyone needing a free meal. The Community Kitchen currently serves lunch (12-1pm) Monday- Friday, dinner (5:30-6:30 pm) Monday – Friday, and one afternoon meal (3-4 pm) Saturday and Sunday. We are open all holidays except closed Thanksgiving Day.
