Grillin' 2006
Grillin' 2006

|
Food! Music! Fun!
The sun shone brightly on Sunday, June 11th, and there
was a whole lot ‘a Grillin’ goin’ on at
the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds. More than 1,200 guests
and 200 volunteers enjoyed grilled sausages, chicken, veggies
and a delectable spread of salads from more than a dozen
area restaurants. Whit Hill, Down the Line and George Bedard
and the Kingpins rocked the grillin’ house. Kids were
entertained with activities from the Ann Arbor Hands-On
Museum, face painting and a variety of outdoor fun and games.
Everyone was on their toes trying to place that last winning
bid on our 107 auction lots including a Red Wings Fantasy
of 20 Red Wings tickets in an executive suite, an autographed
movie poster from The Big Chill signed by writer/director
Lawrence Kasdan (donated by Mr. Kasdan himself) and a dinner
for six prepared in your home by Dexter’s own Paul
and Pat Cousins.
We are happy to report that our financial goals were achieved
raising the revenue needed to keep our trucks on the road
and the community kitchen operating everyday throughout
the year.
Thanks to all who attended, volunteered and supported this
year’s community BBQ to fight local hunger. Mark your
calendars now for Grillin’ 2007 on Sunday,
June 10th—always the second Sunday in June!
We look forward to grillin’ and gathering with you
next year at our 18th annual Grillin’.
